The Washington Police Department is proud to announce that Officer Guzman has become the department’s first certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). Officer Guzman recently completed over 100 hours of intensive training in Zionsville, Indiana, and Jacksonville, Florida, to earn the certification. As a DRE, Officer Guzman will now assist WPD and other agencies in identifying individuals who may be operating vehicles under the influence of narcotics, enhancing public safety efforts across the region.
