
Multiple fire departments responded to a large fire at a turkey barn on East US Highway 50 Tuesday afternoon. The call came in around 3:38 p.m. reporting flames in the attic with no one around the area. Upon arrival, crews found the fire had grown significantly. Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department took command and received assistance from Southeast Fire, Washington Township Fire, and several tankers from surrounding departments. Emergency management was also called to provide water for firefighters on scene. By 4:30 p.m., the fire was 90% contained, though the roof of the structure had collapsed. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
