Tom Edward Boruff, 78, of Odon, Indiana, passed from this life, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Prairie Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Washington. He was born on November 3, 1946, in Linton, Indiana, to Norman Edward ‘Jack’ and Leona Maxine (Roach) Boruff. Tom married Sharon (Arford) Boruff on July 7, 1975.
Tom served in the US Air Force for 6 years. He later attended Vincennes University and became a Conservation Officer. Tom worked for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and retired from the position with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Spring Mill FOP #172 in Mitchell, Indiana and the First President of the organization. Tom loved the Lord and gave Him praise for ALL things. He enjoyed gardening and going out to eat with family and friends; most of all, he enjoyed going for rides in the Corvette with Sharon. Tom will be truly missed.
Family left to cherish memories of Tom include: his wife, Sharon; nieces: Stephanie Boruff (John) Walker and Andrea Scherschel (Zed) Stierwalt; nephews: Michael Jack Boruff, Ryan (Maizy) Arford, Jarod (Candice) Arford, Jordan (Alley) Arford and Josh (Tiffany) Scherschel; grt-nieces: Katie (Ron) Ray, Amanda (Adam) Teeters, Melynnie Arford, Adalynd Scherschel; grt-nephews: Cooper Scrogham and Robert (Michelle) Walker; grt-grt-niece, Sadie Walker; grt-grt-nephews: Atticus, Rowan & Killian Ray, and Clark & Dean Teeters; and brothers-in-law: Carl Arford and Gary Scherschel. Many beloved cousins also survive.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Maxine (Roach) Boruff; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond & Mae (Trueblood) Arford; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Arford) Phillips and Sheila (Arford) Scherschel; and special uncle & aunt, George & June Hammer.
The funeral service will be at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 16, 2025, with Brenden Dyer officiating. Tom will be laid to rest at the Switz City Cemetery. Military Graveside Rites will be given by the Odon VFW #9627 and the US Air Force Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 16th, prior to the funeral service.
