Dawn Marie Holland, age 60, peacefully went to her heavenly home to be with Jesus, at 9:50pm on Monday, March 3rd, 2025.
She was born on September 2nd, 1964, to Jess & Gloria Stout, in St. Charles, Missouri. She temporarily left behind her three children; Caleb Holland (Brooke), Emily Holland, Michelle Williams (Travis), four beautiful grandchildren; Jude, Isabel, Nora, and Adalynn, and husband, Hubie Holland of 38 years. Also, her mother, Gloria (Schuetz) Stout, mother-in-law Rhea May (Goodwin) Holland, and brother’s Steve Stout and Jim (Mavis) Stout. Dawn’s father, Rolla Jess Stout and father-in-law, James R. Holland, preceded her in passing.

Dawn was class president of her 1982 graduating class at Washington Catholic, finishing academically in the top 5. She went to Vincennes University (1982-1984) with a 4.0 and finished at the University of Evansville in 1986, with high honors, receiving a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minor in accounting. On October 18th, 1986, after 7 years of dating, she married Hubie Holland. She worked in Evansville until her first child arrived and then chose to be a stay-at-home mom for her 3 children. After raising her children, she recently worked for Indiana Forms and Labels and the City of Washington, with many individual accounting clients.

Dawn was involved in many ministries over the years that involved local youth. She taught Sunday School, computer class at Grace Christian School, taught in the youth programs at Word of Life, was involved in The Promise – running the spotlight and other behind the scenes operation over the years. Dawn was on the board at the Pregnancy Care Center, was on the BIC (Emmaus) board most of the 21st century years and served many weekend retreats at Camp Illiana and Santa Claus, Indiana. Dawn maintained the Emmaus website and registration for BIC Youth. She also organized numerous blood drives for the Red Cross. Dawn was an avid bike rider; many would see her peddling on her 30-mile bike route on Troy Road or surrounding areas with DC Slow Spokes. She enjoyed mountain biking in Brown County with Hubie, and in Colorado with her brothers, Jim and Steve. She also loved walking with her beautiful daughters and friends, and hiking with her grandkids in her woods.

If you got to know Dawn over her lifetime, or during her last 10-month journey, she had a passion of sharing about her Lord and Savior and how He was working all things for her good. Her life verse was found in the Book of Romans…

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Harvest Community Fellowship on Saturday, March 15th.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harvest Community Fellowship, BIC for sponsoring youth on weekend retreats, or to the Powerhouse Biking Ministry.
