Shirley Mae (Kaiser) Lythgoe, age 88, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 18, 2025, at Memorial Hospital & Healthcare Center in Jasper, Indiana surrounded by her family.
Born on May 26, 1936, in Eckerty, Indiana, she was the beloved daughter of the late Nova and Amy (Holland) Kaiser. Shirley married Robert Lythgoe on August 19, 1961. She worked as a teacher, for the state of Indiana, and most of her life she spent taking care of her home and her family. Shirley enjoyed reading, crafting, making dolls, and was an excellent seamstress. She loved to cook for her family and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lythgoe on September 1, 2002, her parents, Nova and Amy Kaiser, a sister, Joan Kaiser- Ault, and infant brother, Donald Kaiser.
Shirley is lovingly remembered by her children, Robert David (Brenda) Lythgoe, John Michael (Kathy) Lythgoe, Amy Kathleen Stinson, Rachel Ann Lythgoe, grandchildren, Jenna Marie Stinson, Allison Nicole Lythgoe, Robert Tyler (Amanda) Lythgoe, Colin James (Faith) Bowling, Zachary John Lythgoe, Alexander Cole Bowling, Kendra Jane Lythgoe, great- grandson, Graham Eugene Brosmer.
Funeral services will be held Monday February 24, 2025, at 11:00 A.M at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana with Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker to officiate. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Loogootee, Indiana.
Visitation will be held on Sunday February 23, 2025, from 1:00 P.M until 5:00 P.M at Blake Funeral Home and again on Monday morning from 10:00 A.M until the time of service.
