
Washington native Ali Barber is gaining hands-on experience at the Indiana Statehouse as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2025 legislative session. A graduate of Washington High School and Indiana University with degrees in law and public policy, Barber will begin law school at IU McKinney School of Law this fall. As a legislative intern, she assists with bill tracking, constituent services, committee hearings, and policy research. Barber, passionate about helping women and children navigate the legal system, sees this internship as a stepping stone toward her future as a family attorney. The internship runs through the legislative session, which concludes by April 29.
