John B. Diamond, 90, of Loogootee, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, Indiana, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 20, 1934 in Letcher County, Kentucky to Hendley and Rachel (Hampton) Diamond.
John married Elnora Gibson on October 2, 1954. He was a cherished member of the Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, where he served on the board for several years. John’s faith was most important to him as he wanted everyone to know that it is never too late to turn your life over to God. John enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid reader of western books and enjoyed the simple pleasure of the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hendley and Rachel Diamond, his wife, Elnora, and his son, Jimmy.
John is survived by his children, John (Cathy) Diamond, Arvil (Tina) Diamon, Eddie (Bonnie) Diamond, Richard (Julie) Diamond, Carolyn (David Cordell) Diamond and Scott Diamond. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brandy, Chad, Matt, Misty, Eric, Arvil Jr., Mandy, Cody, Logan, Jessica, Landon, Alaina, Luke, Jordan, and Audrey. He leaves behind several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John is one of sixteen children and is survived by siblings, Donna, Clay, Elizabeth, and Tony.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10th, 2025 at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church in Loogootee, Indiana with Pastor Caleb Moffatt to officiate. He will be laid to rest beside Elnora in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
