The Loogootee City Council held a special meeting last week to approve key expenditures and discuss ongoing city projects. Council members authorized the purchase of a new city truck from Dobson in Washington for $45,575. The council also addressed vacation time payouts, approving a resolution for longtime city employee Bo Wilson, who will retire in July 2025, to receive his accrued vacation time. Other discussions included equipment upgrades, with approval to purchase a Bobcat skid steer for $52,311.26, for better service and warranty options. The council also allocated $3,000 to the Alliance for economic development efforts and agreed to survey city-owned property on North Street to establish clear boundary lines. The next council meeting will address trash service policies and other city matters.
