Development Services, Inc. (DSI) in Washington, has received a $75,000 matching grant from the Indiana United Ways Statewide Capital Projects Initiative. The grant will fund the creation of a Hospitality Training Center to teach life and employment skills to individuals with disabilities and other challenges. The center, housed at DSI’s facility on National Highway, will feature a working kitchen, demonstration bedroom, bath, and laundry space. Participants will gain essential skills such as meal preparation, room cleaning, and financial management. The center is supported by the United Way of Daviess County, the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation, and other donors. It is expected to open this summer.
