Washington High School Receives Teaching Innovator Grant for Mentorship Program

Washington High School has been awarded a $250 Teaching Innovator grant from Our Community Foundation to support its Hatchet GOLD mentorship program. The initiative pairs incoming freshmen with peer mentors to ease their transition to high school. Seven teacher leaders will oversee student mentors as they guide freshmen in navigating high school challenges. The grant is one of 15 awarded for second-semester projects in Daviess County.
