Jasper Mayor Dean Vonderheide has named Chad Dick as the new chief of the Jasper Police Department, effective January 6. Dick will succeed retiring Chief Nathan Schmitt, who has served since 2017. Dick brings over 25 years of experience as an Indiana State Trooper. Until Dick is sworn in, Assistant Chief Aaron Persohn, a 19-year law enforcement veteran, will serve as interim leader of the department.
