There’s still time to contribute to the 34th Annual Cops and Kids event, hosted by Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 101. The event is set for this Thursday at the Washington Walmart. Donations are being accepted in person or by mail at Police and Sheriff’s Departments in Daviess and Martin counties. Checks can be made payable to FOP Cops and Kids. For over three decades, local, state, and federal law enforcement, along with firefighters, court officials, and other first responders, have volunteered to provide Christmas gifts for children in Head Start and Kidstuff programs across Daviess and Martin Counties. Organizers want to collect enough funds to spend $200 per child on clothing and toys for about 135 children this year.
