A single-vehicle rollover accident occurred yesterday, on US Highway 50 near Loogootee. Emergency responders, including Loogootee and Madison Township fire departments, arrived at the scene at approximately 9:02 AM. The vehicle had flipped, causing an oil and fuel leak and injuring the driver, who was bleeding from the head. The patient was transported to Daviess Community Hospital by Medic 1. Air evacuation was initially considered but later disregarded. The accident required a temporary shutdown of Highway 50 as crews worked to contain the leaks and address road damage. INDOT was contacted to repair a large hole in the roadway, and traffic was reduced to one lane by the time the scene was cleared at 1:09 PM.
