Loogootee is set to celebrate the holiday season with festive events on two consecutive weekends. The festivities begin on Sunday, December 1, with the lighting of a 40-foot Christmas tree on the town square. The event, running from 4 PM to 8 PM, will feature vendors, live music, and a unique “ball drop” to mark the tree lighting at 7 PM. On Sunday, December 8, the fun continues with the annual Christmas parade and Christmas stroll. Family-friendly activities include hayrides, visits with Santa, an igloo for kids to write letters to Santa, and photo opportunities with a giant ornament display. Local merchants and food vendors will also be on hand, offering hot chocolate, kettle corn, and more. Mayor Brian Ader personally transported the massive tree from Miami to save costs and invites everyone to enjoy the small-town atmosphere and support local businesses.
