Local relief efforts are now underway to help those in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The Washington American Legion is taking donations now and has a box set up in the club room. They have teamed with the town of Odon and the North Daviess FFA, who will be delivering the items on Friday. Drop off your items today or tomorrow before 7:30pm to be delivered Friday morning.

Meanwhile, a second site in our area will also be taking those donations. Knepp’s Amish Kountry Korner on Hwy 50 East will also be accepting donations for the storm victims in North Carolina. The Boyd Family semi’s are ready and waiting. They are looking for paper products, cases of bottled water, toilet paper, dry, canned, or boxed food, personal hygiene products, baby food/formula, pampers, and baby wipes, etc. Drop-offs may be done next door at J & L Home Center (in the new storage building directly across from J & L) starting today through Saturday, during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you wish to make a monetary donation, please call (812) 486-8913, and they will give it to Foothills Community Church to distribute to local organizations in need. Let’s do our part to help our neighbors devastated by this tragic storm.
