Yesterday evening, a combined fire was reported near 3999 S State Road 257 in Washington. The call was received at 8:00 p.m., and responding units arrived shortly after. The fire, fully engulfing the combine, was being contained by the property owner using a fire extinguisher while awaiting emergency services. Southeast Fire Department and multiple units, including Tanker 1 and Rescue 1, were dispatched to the scene. The fire was successfully contained, with additional efforts made to prevent it from spreading to the surrounding field. A disc plow was also utilized to cut around the combine. Shortly after the combined fire was controlled, a field fire south of the original location was reported but quickly contained by the Southeast Fire Department. No injuries were reported, and all units cleared the scene by 9:56 p.m.
