On August 26, Indiana Conservation Officer Kendrick Fuhrman is credited with saving a woman’s life during a house fire in Shoals, Indiana. Responding to a call at 12:20 p.m. on High Street, Fuhrman arrived to find bystanders indicating that people were still inside the burning home. Fuhrman entered the house, locating a man and a woman inside. With the male occupant’s help, he safely escorted the woman out before the flames fully engulfed the home. After ensuring everyone was at a safe distance, Fuhrman assisted the Shoals Volunteer Fire Department in efforts to control the fire. Additional agencies on the scene included Medic One, the Martin County Sheriff’s Department, Duke Energy, and the Martin County Civil Defense Fire Department.
