Sandra Sue Risley, 75, of Bruceville passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. She was born on August 30, 1948, in Vincennes, Indiana, to Albert Chester Hoke and Camilla Irene (Staley) Hoke.

 

She was the devoted wife of Kenneth Alan Risley, who she married on June 1, 1968. He passed away on September 12, 2005. She was also pre-deceased by her parents, her brother Michael Hoke, her sister Beverly Lay, and her grandson, Kenneth Alan Risley III.

 

Sandra is survived by her five children: Karen Arvin (Scott) of Indianapolis; Kathy Smith (Jason) of Terre Haute; Kenneth Risley, Jr. (Kristen) of Bruceville; Kris Jerrels (Chad) of Henderson, Kentucky; and Kelly Jackson (Jim) of Bruceville.

 

Sandra is also survived by 14 of her grandchildren: Scarlett Hall (Josiah), Cypress Arvin, Severin Arvin, Quincy Smith, Christian Smith, Tucker Risley, Mitchell Risley, Alexa Risley, Sydney Risley, Hazel Risley, Vivian Risley, Olivia Jerrels, Jacob Jackson, and Camilla Jackson. She is also survived by one great-grandchild, Evelyn Hall.

 

Having lost her own mother at a young age, Sandra spent most of her life taking care of others, especially her family. She enjoyed gardening, watching game shows and Colts football, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She had a welcoming and generous spirit, and her faith was unwavering. Her absence will be forever felt by those whose lives she touched, but we know that she is now at peace and rejoicing with her Lord and Savior.

 

Those wishing to pay their respects or to share how she touched their lives can do so during the visitation to be held at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home in Bicknell, Indiana, on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a service immediately following also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mariah Creek Cemetery of Oaktown, IN. The family welcomes online condolences and fond memories to be shared at www.fredrickandson.com.
