Trooper Jon Villanueva of the Indiana State Police Jasper Post has been honored with the prestigious 2023 “Trooper of the District” award. The announcement was made by Lieutenant Jason Allen, Jasper District Commander, who highlighted Trooper Villanueva’s outstanding professionalism, integrity, and dedication to the community, both on and off duty. Trooper Villanueva, a graduate of Jasper High School in 2008, has served with the Indiana State Police for four years. After graduating from the 79th Indiana State Police Recruit Class in December 2019, he was assigned to the Jasper Post. Trooper Villanueva is a member of the Mobile Field Force (MFF), serves as a Field Training Officer, and has contributed significantly to the All Crimes Policing Team. His accomplishments include 218 criminal arrests, 15 DUI arrests, 653 traffic contacts, 156 language translations, and numerous other public services. Residing in Dubois County with his family, Trooper Villanueva’s dedication and commitment to the mission of the Indiana State Police have earned him this well-deserved recognition.
