Oscar J. Gilbert

Oscar J. Gilbert, 79, of Washington, formerly of Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Daviess County Hospital.
Born September 9, 1944 in Shoals, he was the son of Oscar and Myrtle (Pittman) Gilbert.
He married Wanda Marie Hatfield on June 12, 1964 in Shoals, and she survives.
Oscar was a truck driver for Boyd Grain Trucking for 27 years before retiring.
He was a mechanic, enjoyed working on engines, lawn mowers, and vehicles of any kind.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda; daughter, Laurie Gilbert; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Kenny Gilbert; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey Gilbert; and siblings, Carl, Arthur, Vernon, Dallas, and Ruby.
Cremation was chosen and no services will be held at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care, Shoals.
