In Gibson County, the trial of David Crowe, accused of killing his mother with a machete, commenced yesterday. The incident involving the murder of Viola Clardy, 72, occurred in October 2021. Deputies found Clardy’s body during a welfare check, noting bloodstains near the patio of the house. Crowe was arrested shortly after. Following several psychiatric evaluations, he was deemed competent to stand trial.
