The IVFA recognized Assistant Fire Chief Michael A. Kirk of the Loogootee Fire Department, along with 78 other members of the fire service, for their 50 years of service. Mike began his career in the fire service in 1967 when he joined the Martin County Emergency Unit. Later, in 1976, he joined the Loogootee Volunteer Fire Department, where he held various positions such as Lieutenant, Captain, Secretary, Treasurer, and Assistant Chief. Mike has been holding the position of assistant chief since 2003. The Loogootee Fire Department extends its appreciation to Michael A. Kirk for his 57 years of dedication to the fire service and for his selflessness and commitment to the community.
