In response to a landslide causing significant damage to State Road 145 south of Birdseye on January 31, the Indiana Department of Transportation has declared an emergency closure. A repair project is now in progress, with work anticipated to continue until early May, weather permitting. For the duration of the closure, the official detour directs traffic from I-64 to State Road 37 and State Road 64. Local traffic will maintain access up to the closure point.
