Daviess County Fire Departments have been busy the past few days fighting field and grass fires throughout the county. Dry vegetation with low humidity and breezy conditions created an environment for fires to spread quickly. These conditions will last for several more days.
A Burn Ban is now in effect for Daviess County. Burning in a containment is allowed but should always be watched.
Fires in these conditions can become out of control quickly and spread to homes, vehicles and other structures.
