Vincennes firefighters swiftly responded to a house fire at 1159 East St. Clair Street late yesterday morning. Upon arrival, the home was engulfed in smoke, prompting concerns that someone might be inside. Fortunately, it was later confirmed that the resident was not at home when the fire ignited. Fire Chief Brett Bobe informed Vincennes PBS that the fire’s origin is suspected to be in the kitchen. As of now, there is no estimate available for the extent of the damages, and no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
