MONTGOMERY, IN — An incident on I-69 near mile marker 70 caught attention as a U-Haul trailer burst into flames. Daviess County Central Dispatch received a call about the fire on August 28th at 2:05 PM. The fire was reported to have begun on the rear and undercarriage of the U-Haul trailer, causing concern for its contents. No structures were reportedly in danger, and no injuries were confirmed at the scene. However, the fire led to lane closures on the northbound side of the highway at different intervals during the incident. Units on-site encountered challenges due to the size of the U-Haul unit and the presence of hot spots. By 4:47 PM, all lanes had been reopened, and the fire incident had been resolved.
