Gary Lee Witsman, 79, of Elnora, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at his home. He was born on May 12, 1944 in Madison, Wisconsin to Arthur Ward and Winona (Aubury) Witsman. Gary married the love of his life, Alice (Bechtel) Witsman on September 22, 1967.
Gary was a member of the Elnora Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Shriner’s. He was a janitorial supervisor from Crane and later was a truck driver. Gary enjoyed working in his shop, restoring old cars and especially spending time with the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Family left to cherish the memories of Gary include: his wife, Alice Witsman; one daughter, Stacy (Brian) Wagler; grandchildren, Devin Hostetter, Tyler Hostetter and Makenzi (Skyler) Brummett; great-grandchildren, Seth Hostetter, Bentley Brummett and Everlynn Brummett.
Gary was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Ronald Witsman and Mike Witsman; sister, Shirley Baker and nephew, Jason Witsman.
A funeral service to honor the life of Gary will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Randy Barnett officiating. A Masonic Memorial Service will be at 1:15 PM on Saturday. Gary will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora at a later date.
Family and friends may call from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 1:30 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
