Rosalee (Heishman) Goforth went to meet her Lord on April 13th, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. Rosalee was born in Vincennes on July 9th, 1933, to the late Nora (Coffey) Heishman and Jacob Heishman. She was the youngest of 21 children, all who proceeded her in death. Survived by her husband Donald Goforth, whom she married January 4th, 1980.
Rosalee retired from Johnson Control after 25 years of service. She was UAW Local 823 Retiree President for several years. Graduated from Vincennes Beauty College in 1966 and had her own shop in her home for several years. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and Moose. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Monroe City. Rose loved cooking and sewing, spending time with family. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and boating at the Montgomery Ruritan Campground in Montgomery, Indiana.
She was proceeded in death by her first husband Donald Emmons, whom she was married from 1949 to 1979. Surviving are their 2 daughters, Gail (Emmons) Mitchell (Wayne Boyd) and Sandi (Emmons) Decker (Mick Smith).
She is survived by her husband Donald Goforth and her stepchildren, Kim Mosely (Ken), Donna Hobbs (Wendell) and the late Bob Goforth.
Rosalee was blessed to leave behind 7 grandchildren. Holly Goodman, Joey Frey (Mischell Adams), Travis Frey, Erin Rice (Colin), Ryan Decker (Christina), Robin Decker (Heather) and Dusty Decker (Lisa). 15 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Visitation for Rosalee will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery from 11:00am – 11:30am. The funeral service will start promptly at 11:30am with Pastor Pete White officiating. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Rosalee.
