Sharlyn Lauderdale, 84, of Vincennes, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Gentle Care nursing home. Sharlyn was born on May 15, 1938, and was the daughter of Clayton and Beaulah (Smith) Jones. She married Jack Lauderdale on November 16, 1969.
Sharlyn had worked for Hamilton Glass, Dairy Queen, and The Pine Box, but her most important job was being a homemaker and raising her children. She was a member of Wabash Community Church and enjoyed her church family and visiting with friends.
Sharlyn is survived by her children, Kay Snider and significant other Steve Garland, Brenda Deckard and her husband Danny, Rodney Frederick and his wife Lisa, and Tracy Lauderdale and his wife Patty; brothers, Ron Jones and his wife Terry, Mike Jones and his wife Christi; brother in law, Rowland Steffey; grandchildren, Tyler Lauderdale, Amber Hutton, Jason Grimme, Rich Cary, Chad Taylor, Josh Taylor, Christy Keller, Mike Frederick, Brittany Frederick; and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning promptly at 2:00 pm. Pastor Dale Biehl will be officiating. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Sharlyn.
