Romona Jean “White” Clinton, a loving matriarch, passed away in Jasper, IN, on April 22, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on September 7, 1932, in Washington, IN, to the late Raymond and Sylvia “Hauser” White, Romona, affectionately nicknamed “Skeeter” by her dad, lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and abundant laughter.

Romona made a lifelong commitment to family and love on August 14, 1955, when she married W. Henry Clinton in Odon, IN. Together, they created a legacy of love and unity that is carried on by their children: Bill Clinton, Jim Clinton (Bonnie), Mark Clinton, and Roger Clinton (Sylvia). Her passing was preceded by her beloved husband, her parents, and her sister, Judy Lee.

Serving tirelessly as a homemaker, Romona was the heart of her household. She instilled values of love and friendship in not only her own four children but also in her 13 grandchildren—Jena Lara (Greg), Amy Childress (Travis), Kristen Joy (Chris), Chris Clinton (Whitney), Nick Clinton (Kayliee), Hannah Pancake (Matthew), Seth Clinton, Chloe Clinton (fiancé Houston), Emily Clinton, Ella Clinton, Greg Clinton, Sophie Clinton, and Sarah Williams (Dean)—and her 22 great-grandchildren: Logan, Tucker, Miles, Ivy, Ryder, Simon, Corbin, and Willow Lara, William and Benjamin Childress; Cora and Carter Joy; Ryan, Corben, and Karleylynn Clinton; Lucy, Cole, Oakley, and Axel Clinton; Brooks and Parker Pancake; and Cordelia Williams. Her unwavering support and sage advice have left an indelible mark on each of their lives.

Enthusiastic about traveling, Romona was a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association (N.C.H.A). Seeing the world through her travels while camping was the way for her to connect deeply with her family and friends, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. Romona loved playing cards with her friends and family, especially while sharing a glass of wine and lots of laughter.

Romona’s formative years were spent at Odon High School, from where she graduated in 1950. Throughout her life, she carried with her the lessons of joy and simplicity, and adapted them to the changing times with grace and wisdom.

To say that Romona was “loving” would be an understatement. Friendly and ever wise, she possessed an uncanny ability to nurture relationships and make each person feel valued. Her sisters, Anna B. Mosby, Marilyn Walden, and Nancy Collins (Dale), will remember Romona’s unwavering affections and the laughter they shared.

Romona Jean Clinton leaves behind a tapestry of memories, a family brimming with descendants who will continue to honor her legacy through acts of love and community. Her story—a tale of devotion, guidance, and tender care—will be cherished and recounted for generations to come.
