Samuel “Sam” White

March 9, 1976 – April 20, 2025

 

Samuel “Sam” White, 49, of Shoals, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025.

 

Born March 9, 1976, in Opelika, Alabama, and he was the son of Jerry and Bobbie Sue (Adams) White.

 

Sam graduated from Beauregard High School in Opelika, Alabama. He attended trade school in Alabama for the electrical trade.

 

Sam married Elizabeth Gilbert on June 25, 2005, and she survives.

 

He was a tow boater on the river, and was considered the first mate.

 

Sam enjoyed hunting for arrow heads, taking his children through caves, playing video games, working on his corvette, collecting coins, and traveling.

 

Surviving to cherish his memory are his parents, Jerry White and Bobbie Sue (John Holt) White ; wife, Elizabeth; children, Sabastian, Nathanial, and Alexander; brother, Wes (Kelly) White; sisters-in-law, Stephanie and Katherine Gilbert; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Laura Jean Gilbert; nephews, Kristofer Stoll and Kai Hedrick; nieces, Kimberlie Stoll, Kordeliah Stoll, and Portland Hedrick; step-nephew, Tanner Abel; step-nieces, Kylie (Derek) Gilbertson and Heather (Tyler) Adams; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, great step-nieces, and a great step-nephew.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Virginia Adams and Earl and Virginia White; and cousin, Scott Sutton.

 

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Pastor Colleen Hardin officiating. Cremation will follow and a private family burial will be held at a later date.

 

Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Thursday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
