LaConda “Connie” J. (Grannon) Thompson, 85, passed away during the morning of April 14, 2025. She was born in Washington on December 3, 1939, the daughter of Gervase A. and Florence (Garner) Grannon. On February 23, 1957, Connie married Fay Thompson. For the next sixty-eight years, they made their home together until his passing on April 4, 2008.
Connie attended Washington Catholic High School. She was later employed at Hillside Manor where she worked in the laundry department. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
Connie was a woman of many interests. She played Bingo, looked forward to going mushroom hunting, and loved listening to all types of music. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling.
Those who now mourn Connie’s passing include her children: Debra Faye Wehrle of Washington; Cheryl (Keith) Davis of Washington; Jim Thompson of Dickson, Tennessee; and Teresa Mize of Washington. Connie was blessed with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She leaves one sister, Marge Dohoho of Salem, Illinois.
During her lifetime, Connie grieved the loss of her parents, Florence and Gervase Grannon; her husband, Fay Thompson; son, Duane Thompson; brother, Phil Grannon; sisters, Wanda Sanders and Barbara Wohl; and son-in-law, John Wehrle
In keeping with Connie’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services.
