A tragic scene unfolded yesterday afternoon when Huntingburg Police responded to a call at 107 N. Geiger Street, where an adult female and a juvenile were found unresponsive inside the residence. Emergency crews responded to the scene around 3:37 p.m. Officers from the Huntingburg Police Department and Dubois County Sheriff’s Office entered the home and attempted life-saving measures. The adult female was pronounced dead at the scene, while the child was transported to Deaconess Memorial Hospital, where they were also pronounced dead. Authorities believe a dog attack may have been the cause of at least one of the deaths. All dogs present in the home have been removed. Indiana State Police Crime Scene Technicians assisted in processing the scene. Police say the investigation is ongoing but do not suspect foul play or any threat to public safety. Condolences have been extended to the victims’ family and friends.
