Robert David “Dave” Lythgoe, 62, of Loogootee, Indiana passed away on Monday February 24, 2025, at Sycamore Care Strategies in Loogootee, Indiana.
He was born on July 31, 1962, in Jasper, Indiana to Robert and Shirley Mae (Kaiser) Lythgoe.
Dave was a United States Army Veteran, spending 2 years in Germany and 2 years in Texas. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9395 of Loogootee, Indiana. He was a member of the St. John Evangelist Church. Dave married Brenda (Hotz) on May 26, 2001. He worked as a parts manager for Sternberg Chrysler in Jasper, Indiana for 10 -12 years, then moving on to work various contracting jobs for NSWC Crane. Dave had a love for being outside, he liked all animals but specifically dogs, was an avid sports fanatic. He was a big fan the Indianapolis Colts, and the Cincinnati Reds. Dave also spent time giving back to his community, coaching local youth leagues. He was the “life of the party” and lit up any room he entered – like a firework! Dave loved taking canoe trips and being on the river, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family, friends, and nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents.
Dave is survived by his wife, Brenda Lythgoe, their children, Robert Tyler (Amanda) Lythgoe, Kendra (Chris Garloch) Lythgoe, siblings, John (Kathy) Lythgoe, Amy Stinson, Rachel Lythgoe, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday February 27, 2025, at 11:00 A.M at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana. Burial and Military Rites will follow in the St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Thursday February 27, 2025, from 9:00 A.M until the time of service at 11:00 A.M at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana.
