John Daniel ‘J.D.’ Moore, 17, of Odon, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025. He was born on March 5, 2007 in Jasper, Indiana to John Paul and Shelly Danielle (Gingerich) Moore.

J.D. was a Junior at North Daviess High School, where he played football, was a past member of the golf team and took welding classes to receive his welding certification. J.D. worked at Graber Post. He passed the Hunter Education Course and enjoyed fishing, hunting and most recently took up coyote hunting. J.D. liked working on his vehicles, putting in sound systems, shooting skeet, playing golf, basketball and baseball with his younger brother, Triston. He enjoyed being outdoors with his friends and his family. He loved going out to Bunkum and messing around the farm with his hunting buddy, his mom.

Family left to cherish the memory of J.D. include: his parents, John and Shelly Moore; grandparents, Paul & Cheryl Moore, Stacy & Jimmy Dean, Mary McRoberts and David Aishe; great-grandparents, Howard & Linda Trueblood; brother, Triston Moore; aunt, Davi (Ethan) Dyal and their children, Colton and Dane; uncle, Jarrod (Amanda) Franklin, and their children, Daphne, Thelma and Jack.

J.D. was preceded in death by: great-grandparents, Don H. ‘Pony’ Moore and Leona Maxine Moore; great-aunt, Donna Martin.

Funeral services to honor the life of J.D. will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Simon J. Graber Building with Ashley Shurtz officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 27 and from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at the Simon J. Graber Building. J.D. will be laid to rest in Bunkum Union Cemetery in Odon. The family requests that after the service at Simon J., the graveside will be a private service, with only the family attending.
