Last night, Peyton Manning hosted the 17th annual Celebration of Caring Gala at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. He was joined by 6-year-old 2025 True Hero award recipient Dwayne McKinley, Jr. and his family. Dwayne is from Crane, Indiana. In April, Dwayne was urgently admitted to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital due to a severe case of flu and pneumonia. Upon arriving, he was immediately placed on a critical life-saving treatment that temporarily took over the functions of his heart and lungs. For six weeks, Dwayne fought for his life. Once strong enough, he transitioned to a ventilator and started a long journey toward recovery. Dwayne is now a healthy and happy kid who is enjoying his kindergarten year.
