The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is installing speed feedback signs across its Southwest District to encourage safer driving in local communities. These signs will be placed along state roads where speed limits decrease as vehicles enter towns and cities. They will display a driver’s current speed and issue a “slow down” alert if they are exceeding the limit. The installation is part of INDOT’s Safety Rapid Deployment initiative and is expected to be completed by mid-spring. While the signs help reduce speeding and improve roadway safety, they will not be used for issuing tickets.
