Gary Lee Meade, 74, of Daviess County, IN, passed away on January 14, 2025, in Washington, IN. Born on November 28, 1950, to Warren Harding Meade and Agnes Ellen “Veale” Meade, he was a soul known for his loving nature, humorous spirit, and remarkable handiness.
A proud high school graduate, Gary spent his professional life skillfully crafting the world around him, working as a dedicated carpenter, coal miner, and bricklayer. His work stands as a testament to his commitment to his craft and his community.
His off-duty hours were joyfully spent fishing and hunting, activities that echoed his love for the outdoors and provided endless tales that showcased his wit and kept his family and friends entertained.
Gary leaves behind his cherished stepchildren, Gaye Norris, Tim Wagner, and Jeff Wagner, his caring brothers, Michael, Patrick, Terry, and Danny Meade, and special friends, Ken and Karen Streicher, Larry and Shelia Cochren, and Brad Tyler. He reunites with his beloved wife, Charlotte Meade, his parents, and his step-daughter Laura in eternal peace. Gary’s memory will be celebrated by all who knew him as the embodiment of a life well-lived.
