A Montgomery man, Kenneth Evinger, 47, was arrested Monday evening following a vehicle chase and drug seizure in Daviess County. The pursuit began when Indiana State Police Trooper Austin Collins attempted to stop Evinger for speeding and a non-working taillight. After refusing to exit his vehicle, Evinger fled, reaching speeds near 100 mph before his SUV became stuck in a ditch on rural county roads. Evinger fled on foot but was found hiding in the woods with the help of K-9 units and drones. A search of his residence revealed approximately nine grams of methamphetamine, over six pounds of marijuana, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia. Evinger faces multiple charges, including dealing methamphetamine, possession of controlled substances, resisting law enforcement, and criminal recklessness. This arrest was a coordinated effort by Indiana State Police and local sheriff’s offices.
