Big Lots has announced it will shut down all its remaining stores, including the Vincennes location in Knox County, following its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing and the closure of hundreds of stores earlier this year. The retailer stated that “going out of business” sales will begin at all locations, adding to the more than 400 stores already closed in 2024. The company filed for bankruptcy in September, citing inflation and competition as significant challenges to its survival. Some stores may remain open for weeks or months during the liquidation process, but the timeline for the final closures remains unclear.
