Merle Eugene Wagler, 51, of Loogootee, passed away Friday, December 13th, 2024, at 6:18 pm EST.
He was born September 18, 1973, in Washington, Indiana, to the late Lester K. “Murphy” and Ida Mae (Knepp) Wagler.
Merle married Angela Yoder, daughter of Cletus and Josephine Yoder, on May 22, 1999.
He was a loving husband, beloved father, and cherished papaw. He always had a smile on his face, and everyone he met was his friend. Merle loved many things, but he especially enjoyed soaking up “God’s beautiful creation” by watching a sunset, sitting by a campfire, or drinking a cup of his 100% Colombian coffee. He selflessly poured hours of care into his employees and customers through his business. He was an active member at Living Waters Church.
Merle was preceded in death by his parents, Lester K. and Ida Mae Wagler; brothers, stillborn brother and Gary Wagler; brother-in-law Levi Dean Graber; and two nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Wagler; children:, Tori (David) Troyer, Tristan Wagler, Maggie Wagler, Clayton Wagler, Kavan Wagler, Shaylee Wagler, Keenan Wagler, Keeliegh Wagler, Ariah Wagler, Trigg Wagler, Legend Wagler, Ida Malaya Wagler, Briar Wagler; his grandchildren, Hadassah Troyer and Monte Troyer; his siblings, Karen Graber, Dale Wagler, Janet (Steve) Wagler, Diana (Owen) Wagler, Edwin Wagler, Treva (Kevin) Knepp and Dean (Shirley) Wagler; sister-in-law Barbra Jean Wagler; 11 nieces and 15 nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 19th, 2024 at First Mennonite Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow in Living Waters Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at First Mennonite Church in Montgomery. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. .to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. also at the church.
