The Washington Parks Department invites families to celebrate the season with “Christmas in the Park” tomorrow, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the East Side Park Community Building. The event will feature wagon rides through the park’s Christmas light displays, visits with Santa Claus, hot chocolate, homemade cookies, donuts, and ornament coloring activities for the kids. The city is asking for a non-perishable food donation to support local needs. Parks crews spent two months setting up the extensive light displays, including two new surprises for visitors to discover on the wagon rides. Santa will be available for free photos, though families are asked to bring their own cameras.
