Gladys Arlene Thomas, 84, of Washington, Indiana passed away peacefully December 2024 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born March 3, 1940 in Dunnellon, New Jersey to the late Arthur and Carrie (Madouse) Krapf. Gladys was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church in Washington, Indiana. She worked many different jobs over the years. These included working in the meat department at a few grocery stores, ward clerk at a hospital, a school aide/tutor, a few warehouse jobs, an optician, and a homemaker. Gladys enjoyed spending time and participating in activities with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. She always enjoyed a hot cup of tea, no matter what time of day.

Gladys is survived by her husband, David, of more than 60 years. David and Gladys were married on May 22, 1964 at East Columbus Methodist Church in Columbus, Indiana. Also surviving are her daughter Michelle (Michael) Mullins of Indiana; her granddaughters Megan (Marco) Larreur of North Carolina and Mikayla Muzii (Adam Hannula) of Texas; a step-granddaughter Megan Shoemaker (Nick Parker) of Kentucky, a step-grandson Heath Mullins of and a great-granddaughter Maria Larreur of North Carolina. Gladys is survived by her sister-in-law’s Pat Krapf of Pennsylvania and Ruth Krapf of Georgia, and a brother-in-law Terry (Cathy) Thomas of Indiana. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Carrie Krapf, her brothers Thomas (Jeannette) Krapf, Harry Krapf, and Arthur Krapf; her sisters Kathryn (Marty) Scanlon, Evelyn Krapf, and Jean (Jay) Davis. Her son-in-law, Mark Muzii, also preceded her in death in 2009.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 4:00-7:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Family Funeral Home 2020 State St., in Washington. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Jennifer Weaver at Christ United Methodist Church in Washington on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00am. Friends and family may visit from 10:00-11:00am on Monday prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to be given to Christ United Methodist Church. Donation envelopes will be provided by the funeral home.
