Carol Verlea Matteson, 89, of Washington, Indiana passed away on Saturday December 15, 2024, at Legends Village in Washington, Indiana.
She was born on August 27, 1935, in Greenup, Illinois.
Carol married David L. Matteson. Carol and her husband, David, raised Appaloosa horses and were very successful.
She was a dedicated nurse and loved nursing. She managed the first emergency department at the Daviess County Hospital. Carol later moved to infection control and supervision for over 48 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed reading and was fond of cats and dogs.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M at Blake & Wagler Home with Rev. James Myers to officiate. Burial will follow in Aikman’s Creek Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday at Blake & Wagler Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.
