Amos Swartzentruber, 85, of Odon, IN, went to his heavenly home, December 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 17, 1939, in Bramble to Jacob and Maggie (Wagler) Swartzentruber. Amos married his loving wife, Lena (Miller) Swartzentruber on August 30, 1959.

Amos was a Charter member of Bethel Mennonite Church. He was a farmer and owned and operated with his family the Odon Locker and Odon Sawmill for several years.

Amos is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lena and their children; sons, Terry (Darla) Swartzentruber, Bob (Raylene) Swartzentruber, Norman (Fran) Swartzentruber and daughter, Theresa (Nelson) Wittmer all of Odon; 15 grandchildren: Cory (Leslie) Swartzentruber, Cameron (Ashley) Swartzentruber, Chalee (Anthony) Yoder, Gabriel (Abbie) Swartzentruber, Alicia (Derek) Wagler, Caleb (Mallory) Swartzentruber, Isaiah (Jaylyn) Swartzentruber, Elisha Swartzentruber, Lucas (Karlee) Swartzentruber, Isaac (Kayla) Swartzentruber, Maggie (Tye) Robertson, Andrew Swartzentruber, Brooke (Logan) Wagler, Kendall (Jaycee) Wittmer and Alex (Cheyenne) Wittmer. He is also survived by thirty-three great grandchildren.

Also surviving are his siblings; brothers, Alvin (Rose) Swartzentruber, Glen (Dorothy) Swartzentruber, Aaron (Linda) Swartzentruber; sisters, Kate (Howard) Gingerich, Ruth Miller, sister-in-law Barbara Swartzentruber and brother-in-law Simon Knepp and several nieces and nephews.

Amos was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Maggie (Wagler) Swartzentruber, his brother, Ervin Swartzentruber, his sister, Barbara Knepp and brother-in-law Dolathe Miller.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, at Bethel Mennonite Church in Odon with Carmen Detweiler, Simon Knepp and Ben Swartzentruber officiating. Amos will be laid to rest in the Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Mennonite Church Mission Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church.
