A 12-year-old boy has died following an incident in Terre Haute where police allege a man gave him a substance to consume. On December 1, police and fire crews responded the incident, finding the boy and 28-year-old Michael Baker unconscious near an RV. The boy was initially transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to Indianapolis, where he died on Thursday. Baker, also airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital, is accused of giving the boy an unidentified dark substance to consume, which Baker allegedly ingested as well. A whiskey bottle containing the substance was recovered at the scene, along with an altered firearm. Baker faces charges of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Possession of an Altered Weapon. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
