Discover Downtown Washington is gearing up for a festive day of family fun with its Christmas on Main Celebration, set for Saturday, December 7th. The event will feature activities from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Highlights include a community breakfast sponsored by Purdue Farms, carriage rides, a vendor village, cookie and ornament decorating, and a special screening of The Grinch at the Indiana Theater. The Christmas parade rolls out at 6 p.m., followed by the Christmas tree lighting at the gazebo. Santa will also be on hand at the new Commons stage from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Parks and Recreation has added festive touches with banners and holiday flowers throughout downtown. National recording artist John Berry will perform his Christmas show at the high school auditorium at 7:30 p.m., wrapping up the day’s festivities.
