The Vincennes Police Department’s Detective Division is investigating incidents involving individuals posing as security company representatives who attempt to enter homes, claiming they are there to “upgrade” security systems. In each case, the impersonators claimed to be from the same security company the residents use. Once inside, they asked for and were given the home’s security code. Police urge anyone who has shared their security code with an unknown individual to contact their security provider to update their passcode. Residents who experienced similar encounters on the afternoon or evening of November 6, are asked to call the Vincennes Police Department at 812-882-1630 with any information.
