Two Arrested After Firearm Discharged During Confrontation in Knox County

Yesterday morning, Knox County deputies responded to a physical confrontation involving a firearm at a residence on North McClure Road, just north of Vincennes. Deputies arrived at the scene and made contact with 21-year-old Jayden Eakins and 23-year-old Katelyn Holt. According to the investigation, a third person, 36-year-old Timothy Demoura, had fled the scene after breaking the windows of Holt’s vehicle. Eakins reportedly fired a gun toward the ground during the altercation. Eakins was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail, where he was charged with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a Level 5 felony. Demoura was later located and found to have threatened Eakins with a hammer. He was arrested and charged with intimidation with a weapon, a Level 5 felony, and criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor. Both men were already on probation for prior offenses and are being held on $10,000 bonds each.
