A 22-year-old Oaktown man, Dawson Kelm, was arrested Friday afternoon after being spotted inside Dunham’s Sporting Goods in Vincennes by an off-duty Knox County Sheriff’s deputy. Kelm, who had two outstanding warrants, allegedly fled from on-duty deputies when they arrived. Once in custody, deputies found burglary tools, broken security tags, and clothing with store tags still on him. In the changing room, they discovered his shorts and a plastic bag containing 6 grams of methamphetamine. Kelm faces new charges of Resisting Law Enforcement, Criminal Conversion, and Possession of Methamphetamine, along with the two existing warrants. He is being held without bond at the Knox County Jail.
